Benefits
Key Ingredients

Ascorbyl Glucoside

This gentle form of Vitamin C delivers transformative effects for radiance and texture, combating Collagen degradation and acting as a mild tyrosinase inhibitor, helping to brighten and even skin tone.

Ferulic Acid

Ferulic Acid, a potent antioxidant, helps neutralise damage from environmental aggressors that contribute to premature ageing. Its protective powers help reduce the appearance of redness and uneven skin tone. This ingredient also boosts the effects of Vitamin C by enhancing its stability.

Licorice Root Extract

Licorice Root Extract reduces tyrosinase, the enzyme required to produce melanin. It also contains liquiritin, an active compound that helps to disperse and remove existing melanin in the skin.

Kakadu Plum

Is rich in Vitamin C and other antioxidants, making it a powerful free-radical scavenger. It is also naturally antibacterial and anti-inflammatory, making it great for those with skin sensitivities.

How To Use

Morning and evening, apply 2 pumps of Vitamin C Serum and press into freshly cleansed skin. Massage until fully absorbed and then follow with Eye Cream and Moisturiser (plus SPF in the morning). For combination skin, we suggest Moisture Defence Normal or try Expert Restore Niacinamide Replenishing Cream to better target fine lines and wrinkles.

Hyaluronic Acid and Vitamin C are both naturally occurring in the skin and work together to give you a firm, glowing complexion. You can layer these ingredients or use them at different times of the day. Vitamin C is best used in the morning, with Hyaluronic Acid at night. You can also use them together—if layering, apply your antioxidant serum (Vitamin C) first for maximum protection. Try our 1% Hyaluronic Complex Serum or Expert Skin-Firming Peptide Serum which both contain Hyaluronic Acid.

If your main concern is uneven skin tone and dullness, try Even Blend Serum. It contains Glycolic Acid, which will boost brightening benefits by chemically exfoliating the skin. We’d suggest using 10% Vitamin C Super Serum in the morning and Even Blend Serum at night, as using them together can be irritating, particularly if you have sensitive skin.

Skintel/Pro Tips

If you incorporate other actives into your routine such as AHAs, BHAs, or Retinol, the best time to use the 10% Vitamin C Serum is in the morning and then apply your other actives at night. This will help to avoid irritation and ensure the Vitamin C remains potent.

FAQs

What is Ascorbyl Glucoside?

Ascorbyl Glucoside, a water-soluble form of Vitamin C that’s combined with glucose, a type of sugar, is a more stable and much gentler alternative to pure Vitamin C. Once it's absorbed into the skin, an enzyme called Alpha-Glucosidas breaks it down into L-Ascorbic Acid, which delivers the same benefits as pure Vitamin C but without irritation.

Why does the 10% Vitamin C Super Serum contain 10% Ascorbyl Glucoside instead of L-Ascorbic Acid?

Pure L-Ascorbic Acid, or Vitamin C, is water-soluble. Although it is a pure form of Vitamin C, it can also be unstable in water-based or high pH solutions (which are better for skin compatibility). It can also oxidise quickly, making it less effective and potentially irritating to the skin.

Why does the 10% Vitamin C Super Serum contain 10% Ascorbyl Glucoside?

Research has shown that, to make a beneficial difference to skin, a product needs to contain at least 8% Vitamin C. Formulations over 20% do not increase in effectiveness and may also lead to irritation.

Can the 10% Vitamin C Super Serum be used on sensitive skin?

Yes, as it contains a gentler form of Vitamin C it may be used on sensitive skin; however, it is recommended to do a patch test first.

Can I use 10% Vitamin C Super Serum if I have acne prone skin?

Ascorbyl Glucoside is water-soluble and oil-free, meaning that it will not clog pores. If you are using Benzoyl Peroxide to address acne, alternate days of use with the 10% Vitamin C Super Serum as Benzoyl Peroxide can cause the Vitamin C to oxidise.
